Stronger Together: the Employment Service, IDPs, and Socially Responsible Businesses

Published 06 January 2026 year, 14:50

The State Employment Service serves as a reliable pillar for both people and employers: job seekers receive professional support and new opportunities, businesses gain financial incentives, and communities benefit from qualified specialists. The employment story of Alina Hryhorenko demonstrates tangible results of support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and effective partnership between the employment service and employers.

After being forced to relocate from Mariupol to Dnipro, Alina turned to the employment service to return to work as quickly as possible. Specialists of the Pokrovsk branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center analyzed her managerial experience and people skills and offered a vacancy where her organizational abilities and empathy would be most valuable. As a result, she was employed as an administrator-registrar at the “YaMariupol. Dnipro” center.

Today, Alina has a stable job and the opportunity to help other displaced people, drawing on her own life experience.

The employment service also supported the employer. By hiring an IDP, the enterprise made use of a state program that compensates labor costs, which helped strengthen the team and more effectively carry out social initiatives.
