One of the most important attributes of statehood and a guarantor of Ukraine's security and freedom is its Armed Forces. On December 6, Ukrainians celebrate one of their most important national holidays—Armed Forces Day. Every day, thousands of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers defend the country on the front lines, guarding its borders on land, at sea, and in the air. On the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we will tell you about the branches of the Ukrainian army.
The Logistics Forces organize the logistical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their daily activities, during combat training, mobilization and strategic deployment, preparation and conduct of operations, and restoration of combat readiness. They are also responsible for the receipt, accumulation, accounting, storage, supply, and replenishment of material resources.
Created in 2018, the Logistics Forces Command merged the previously separate Rear and Armament Services of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thereby increasing the efficiency of logistics process management.
The main function of the Logistics Forces is to provide technical and logistical support to the Ukrainian army, which includes storage, repair, and transportation of weapons, ammunition, military equipment, food, fuel, etc.
Transportation is critical to successful defense, particularly the redeployment of troops, restoration of combat capability, and delivery of military aid from international partners. The Logistics Forces' tasks also include infrastructure modernization—installing efficient heating systems and providing housing for military personnel at training grounds.
