One of the most important attributes of statehood and a guarantor of Ukraine's security and freedom is its Armed Forces. Special Operations Forces are a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The SOF successfully carry out tasks that others consider "impossible"; they are professionals in the impossible.
The Special Operations Forces include special purpose, psychological operations, and resistance movement units. They participate in operations related to reconnaissance, raids behind enemy lines, counterterrorism activities, search and evacuation of prisoners or hostages, etc. Special Operations Forces units are the first to enter enemy territory by land, sea, and air, laying the groundwork for operations to liberate Ukraine from its enemies.

Their participation in the battle for Kyiv, the defense of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the liberation of Zmiinyi Island in the Black Sea, the lightning counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, the liberation of Kherson, the battle for Bakhmut, the defense of Avdiivka, Chasiv Yar, and Vovchansk, the operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, and many others, is a striking example of the actions of modern, professional, and effective soldiers.
