In order to support evacuated residents of the Donetsk region, relocated providers of social services of communal ownership are expanding the geography of social services for people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
Last year, the Territorial Center for Social Services (provision of social services) of the Ocheretyn Village Military Administration was relocated to the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Currently, the territorial center has 2 departments: the home social assistance department and the day care department.
Social workers at the territorial center provide the social service "home care" daily to 27 mobility-impaired residents of Donetsk who have evacuated to the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly in the cities of Dnipro and Kamianske.
The social service "home care" includes the following services:
- assistance in managing the household;
- assistance in self-care (maintaining personal hygiene, mobility regime, taking medications, feeding, etc.);
- assistance in moving around the apartment;
- assistance in organizing interaction with other specialists and services;
- assistance in providing technical rehabilitation means, training in their use;
- psychological support;
- provision of information on social protection issues;
- assistance in obtaining free legal aid (in the form of referrals, redirection, accompaniment to a specialist for such assistance);
- assistance in document processing, making payments.
Based on the day care department of this Territorial Center, the "University of the Third Age" operates, where classes on computer literacy for elderly people are held (including the use of state electronic services "Diia Portal" and "Social Web Portal of Electronic Services of the Ministry of Social Policy"). Master classes and psychological training are regularly conducted to support the internal resource of self-awareness and stabilize emotional state.
Donetsk region does not leave its citizens alone with the challenges of wartime.
