The Toretsk community and its partners implemented a joint art initiative to mark the anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka

Published 25 February 2026 year, 10:38

On the occasion of the 155th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka's birth, the communities of Toretsk, Ruzhyn, and Kaniv joined forces to implement a joint artistic initiative within the framework of the project "Side by Side: United Communities."

The art flash mob "Drawing Inspired by the Works of Lesya Ukrainka" is an example of fruitful inter-community cooperation, creative partnership, and cultural unity. The initiative aims to popularize the poet's literary heritage through the language of visual arts and demonstrate that Ukrainian culture unites regardless of distance.

Through artistic images, interpretations, and creative experiments, participants have the opportunity to:

  • convey the depth, beauty, and emotional power of Lesya Ukrainka's works;
  • interpret the characters of her heroes in a contemporary artistic vision;
  • feel the commonality of cultural values and creative inspiration.

This flash mob is not only an artistic challenge, but also a space for self-expression, mutual support, and community cooperation. By drawing their favorite characters, illustrating excerpts from works, or creating their own artistic interpretations, participants join in a shared cultural dialogue.

A joint initiative by the communities of Toretsk, Ruzhyn, and Kaniv demonstrates that culture is a powerful tool for bringing people together. Through creativity, we not only honor the figure of Lesya Ukrainka, but also build bridges of cooperation, support, and mutual understanding.

We invite young artists, teachers, parents, and all lovers of Ukrainian art to join the art flash mob and share their works on social media with the hashtags:

#МалюємоПлічОПліч

#155роківЛесіУкраїнки

#ТорецькРужинКанів

#ЗгуртованіГромади

#ЄднанняЧерезМистецтво

Let's create an artistic celebration together that will highlight the greatness of Lesya Ukrainka and show that her words continue to inspire today, and that joint creativity unites the communities of Ukraine.
