As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” the Toretsk and Kaniv communities continue to develop their cultural partnership by exchanging professional expertise and best practices in the field of arts education.
On June 10, 2026, a master class titled “The Accordion (Bayan) in Polyphonic Ensembles: The Case of the ‘Colors Trio’ Instrumental Group” was held for teachers at arts institutions and cultural workers in the Kaniv community. The event was organized by a representative of the “Ivan Karabits Music School of the Toretsk City Territorial Community.”
During the master class, participants learned about the specifics of ensemble performance, in which the accordion (bayan) plays an important role in creating a multifaceted musical sound. Using the “Colors Trio” as an example, the possibilities for creative interaction between different instruments were demonstrated, along with their contribution to the creation of artistic images and the conveyance of the emotional content of musical works.
The event served as a valuable platform for the professional development of educators and musicians, facilitating the exchange of experiences, strengthening cultural ties, and deepening cooperation between the Toretsk and Kaniv communities.
Together, we preserve and enrich Ukraine’s cultural heritage by building new bridges of unity and mutual support between communities.
