On the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, the Toretsk City Military Administration, together with the Ruzhyn Village Council, invites community residents to join the global "silent" campaign "Angels of Memory," which will take place on February 18-20, 2026.
The campaign is part of the communities' cooperation on the "Side by Side: United Communities" project and is an example of unity, mutual support, and shared responsibility for preserving national memory. The Toretsk and Ruzhyn communities together honor the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and all those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
Every year, Ukrainians around the world create thousands of white paper cutouts — symbols of those who died for Ukraine, our shared painful memory, and our faith in the victory of light over darkness.
The campaign began in February 2014, when artists and concerned citizens honored the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred by placing white paper angels on trees in the streets where the shootings took place. Since then, Angels of Memory has become an annual nationwide and global memorial event.
All concerned citizens are invited to participate in the event. Conditions for participation:
- make angels out of white paper;
- post photos on Facebook with the hashtag #ТихаАкціяАнгелиПлічОПліч.
In order to create a joint publication, Toretsk MBA asks you to send your photos to the email address of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Toretsk City Military Administration [email protected] by 10:00 a.m. on February 20, 2026.
Let us honor the memory of those who died for Ukraine together, side by side, so that these events will forever be engraved in the history of Ukraine and in the hearts of every Ukrainian.
