The story of the evacuation unit began when several police officers risked their lives and came for people who had already lost hope of rescue. This was beyond their immediate duties—they acted from the heart. Since then, without interruption or rest, the White Angels have been rescuing civilians from the front lines.
Five crews. Young men and women who voluntarily took on the responsibility for the lives of the residents of Donetsk Oblast. Each trip is a special operation. They had to drive almost into enemy territory, snatch the wounded from the clutches of death at the last minute, fend off direct attacks from enemy drones, and suffer injuries.
During their work, the police evacuated about 15,500 people, including more than 2,500 children.
The experience of the "White Angels" of Donetsk region became the basis for the creation of similar units in other frontline and border regions of Ukraine.
