Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Regional Military Administration, attended the second day of the Economic Forum held within the framework of the Carpathian Initiatives Summit.
Although the summit primarily focuses on the Carpathian regions, the event holds strategic importance for Donetsk Oblast, as a significant number of residents, businesses, and entrepreneurs relocated to Western Ukraine following the start of the full-scale invasion.
Key Discussions & Strategic Priorities:
Housing Needs: Addressing one of the most critical challenges facing internally displaced persons (IDPs)—access to adequate housing—served as a central focus during panel discussions and working sessions.
Municipal Projects: Hromadas from across Donetsk Oblast, including Bakhmut, Mariupol, Pokrovsk, and Siversk, are developing social and temporary housing initiatives for displaced residents. The most fully realized proposals were presented directly to forum participants.
Partnerships & Funding: The regional leadership aims to utilize the summit to secure international and regional partners, as well as the necessary resources to accelerate the execution of these housing initiatives.
