On December 10, an online meeting was held to coordinate the provision of financial or in-kind assistance to households in frontline areas for the purchase/receipt of solid fuel to ensure a stable winter period in 2025-2026. The event was chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The event was attended by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, as well as heads of relevant structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the current status of the implementation of the Procedure for providing one-time cash assistance for the purchase of solid fuel for household stoves to the population living in areas where hostilities are (or were) taking place during the heating season. The meeting participants paid special attention to the status of one-time cash assistance payments for heating to residents of frontline territories.
More than 1,100 households located within a 10-kilometer zone from the line of contact have already received assistance for the 2025-2026 heating season, as well as more than 20,000 households located more than 10 kilometers from the line of contact. Assistance to residents of the region continues.
The issue of providing assistance for the purchase of solid fuel is an extremely important element in ensuring a stable heating season and adequate living conditions for residents of frontline territories.
In cooperation with central authorities and international partners, the regional state administration is taking all necessary measures to provide timely assistance to the population in need.
The regional state administration expresses its gratitude to representatives of the UNHCR, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the UN Children's Fund UNICEF, the Czech humanitarian organization People in Need, the Angels of Salvation charitable foundation, the Avalist public organization, the NEW WAY charitable foundation, ACTED, SPIR, and other partners who provide comprehensive assistance and support to residents of Donetsk Oblast under martial law.
