To support residents of Donetsk in Kyiv, 14 humanitarian hubs/support centers have been established and are currently operating, where more than 61,300 displaced persons find support, understanding, and the inspiration to move forward.

As part of a working trip, Oleksandra Zhuravel, Chief of Staff of the Regional State Administration, visited the “Heart of the East” IDP support center in the Mariupol district and the “Our Kramatorsk. Together We Will Overcome,” which have become vital centers of assistance for residents of the region who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.

In addition to receiving humanitarian aid, the centers organize activities for visitors aimed at the social adaptation of displaced persons: providing consultations on social and legal issues, psychological, medical, and social assistance, employment support, administrative services, master classes, educational, informational, cultural, entertainment, and sports events, and more.

During her visit, Oleksandra Zhuravel familiarized herself with the centers’ areas of operation, visited the children’s area, medical office, library, veterans’ space, and museum corner; they discussed key needs as well as prospects for the further development of these humanitarian spaces.

These locations have become places of strength, support, and hope for thousands of displaced persons from Donetsk Oblast. They not only help people overcome the consequences of war but also create conditions for new opportunities, recovery, and development in a safe environment.
