On October 27, Ukrainian Literacy and Language Day, the 2026 Radio Dictation for National Unity will take place. The broadcast will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be available on the Public Broadcasting platforms.
The text for this year’s Radio Dictation was written by author and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Artur Dron. The text will be read in tandem by civic activist and volunteer Dasha Astafieva and Ukrainian language and literature teacher Artur Proydakov.
Dasha Astafieva is the founder of the book app UnderBooks, which promotes Ukrainian literature. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, she has also been volunteering and supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Artur Proydakov promotes the Ukrainian language; he is the author of the book *Who Does That!? How to Teach a Child to Learn* and the executive director of the educational foundation *MriyDiy*. In 2023, he became the first teacher from Ukraine to be named among the world’s top ten teachers by the Global Teacher Prize.
Anyone in Ukraine and abroad is welcome to participate in the National Unity Radio Dictation. This is an opportunity to test your knowledge of the Ukrainian language and become part of a shared tradition.
