On October 14, as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” an online meeting was held between educators from the Velykonovosilky community in Donetsk Oblast and their colleagues from the Teplitsa community in Vinnytsia Oblast. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences in teaching the subject “Defense of Ukraine” in schools.
During the meeting, the Teplitsa community presented its experience in organizing instruction, setting up functional areas, and utilizing material and technical resources for students’ practical training. Special attention was given to collaboration with the military, State Emergency Service units, and the police, as well as to involving practicing professionals in the educational process.
The “Defense of Ukraine” teaching center, based at Teplitsa General Education School No. 1 (Grades 1–3), has been operating since September 1, 2025. Its experience served as the foundation for a professional dialogue on modern approaches to teaching the subject and developing the practical competencies students need in today’s world.
The exchange of experiences between communities provides an opportunity to disseminate effective educational practices, improve the learning process, and strengthen the preparation of young people. It is through such interaction that partnerships translate into concrete steps toward quality education, security, and responsible citizenship.
