On August 7-8, Dnipro hosted the Digital Front: Security Belt for Ukraine's Regions forum, which brought together 60 participants from across the country. The event became an important platform for discussing the challenges and prospects of digital transformation in wartime. The forum was organized by the European Union and the United Nations Development Program in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and was held within the framework of the UNDP-EU flagship partnership "EU4Recovery - Empowering Communities in Ukraine".
The event was attended by representatives of ministries, regional state administrations, local governments and UNDP in Ukraine.
During the forum, Donetsk Oblast was represented by Volodymyr Bilokopytyi, Head of the Department for Informatization and Digitalization of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration, and Olha Sydorova, Deputy Mayor of Novohrodiv. They acted as speakers and demonstrated successful digital solutions implemented in Donetsk Oblast during the war.
The event allowed participants to share real-life cases of digitalization, discuss key challenges faced by communities, and receive practical advice on improving digital skills and using modern management tools.
The forum participants paid special attention to digital security issues, including personal data protection, the development of cybersecurity in local governments, and the introduction of online services and automated solutions in communities.
The event confirmed that digital transformation is not only about the convenience of services, but also about the security, resilience and development of communities in times of war.
