The Department of Veterans Affairs of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reports on its work for 2025. Thanks to the synergy of state, regional, and local programs, the region provides comprehensive support — from solving housing issues to mental recovery and preserving the memory of the heroes' deeds.
🏠 Housing policy: real square meters
Providing housing remains a key priority. The following results were achieved last year:
- UAH 8.2 million was paid as direct cash compensation for housing for veterans.
- UAH 303.1 million was received by 300 defenders under the state program "eRestoration."
- In total, 300 veteran families have already purchased their own homes in Ukraine at the expense of the state budget for 2024-2025.
- Commissions have allocated UAH 64 million in assistance to resolve housing issues for 32 internally displaced veterans from the occupied territories.
🧠 Psychological assistance and social rehabilitation
We strive to ensure that every veteran and family member of a hero feels supported not only financially but also emotionally:
- 77 meetings with the families of fallen defenders were held by department specialists throughout the year.
- Modern rehabilitation methods were introduced: art therapy, hippotherapy, thematic photo projects, and exhibitions.
- 545 people received sanatorium-resort treatment and underwent social rehabilitation in institutions in Myrhorod, Odesa, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
🛡 Social guarantees and institutional changes
- Institute of Support Specialists: specialists are already working in the Kramatorsk district to help veterans and demobilized soldiers adapt to civilian life (based on the principle of extraterritoriality).
