On October 10, the exhibition “The Palette of the Druzhkivka Region” opened in the exhibition hall of the Zhmerynka City Historical Museum to mark Ukrainian Artists’ Day.
The exhibition features works by artists from the Druzhkivka community that are part of the collection of the Druzhkivka Historical and Art Museum. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the creative works of artists from the Druzhkivka region, see their homeland through the artists’ eyes, and experience the uniqueness of local cultural traditions.
Presenting the collection in Zhmerynka helps maintain a connection with Druzhkivka’s cultural heritage and introduces it to a new audience. Despite the distance, the artists’ work continues to tell the story of our region, its beauty, and its people.
The exhibition is organized as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” under which the Druzhkivka and Zhmerynka communities are collaborating as partners. Cultural initiatives make it possible to showcase the artistic heritage of the Druzhkivka region beyond the borders of Donetsk Oblast, introduce Zhmerynka residents to the work of our artists, and foster partnerships between the communities.
The Druzhkivka community extends its sincere gratitude to the Zhmerynka City Council, the staff of the City History Museum, and everyone who helped organize the exhibition for their cooperation and for providing the opportunity to showcase the work of Druzhkivka artists to the general public.
Despite the distance, culture maintains a connection to one’s homeland, and partnerships between communities open up new opportunities for preserving and promoting Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
