On April 27, 2026, a joint online meeting was held between the Health Department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the State Institution “Donetsk Regional Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health,” during which key issues regarding the functioning of the region’s healthcare system were discussed, including the status of immunoprophylaxis, pharmacovigilance, and the supply of medicines.
During the meeting, the implementation of the operational plan for the Strategy for the Development of Immunoprophylaxis for the period up to 2030 and the results of population vaccination for the first quarter of 2026 were analyzed. Despite the challenging conditions of martial law, the region has ensured the continuity of preventive vaccinations, established vaccine supply logistics, and maintained effective control over compliance with the “cold chain.”
At the same time, meeting participants noted the need to further intensify efforts to increase vaccination coverage, particularly among young children, adolescents, and the adult population, as well as to boost vaccination acceptance.
Special attention was given to organizing events as part of European Immunization Week 2026 and World Immunization Week, which are held under the slogan “Vaccines work for every generation.” A series of informational and educational activities is being implemented in the region to raise public awareness of the importance of preventive vaccinations.

To assess the level of knowledge and attitudes toward vaccination, anonymous online surveys are planned among healthcare workers and the general public. This will provide objective data, identify key issues, and help improve future communication and organizational efforts in the field of immunoprophylaxis.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration emphasizes that vaccination is an important component of the public health system and one of the key tools for preventing infectious diseases. Under martial law, protecting public health and ensuring access to medical services remain among the priorities of regional policy.
Residents of the region are urged to take a responsible approach to their own health and the health of their children, to get preventive vaccinations on time, and to consult their family doctors for advice.
