This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Regional Military Administration.
“Financial support for those released from captivity is an important area of our work. Together with the relevant departments of the Regional State Administration, we have developed a roadmap of assistance for both military personnel and civilians who have endured Russian captivity.
This support complements state payments and should serve as a real foundation for people’s return to normal life.
We are also strengthening medical and psychological assistance: after years of torture and abuse, most former prisoners suffer from serious illnesses and require long-term treatment and mental health support.
Employment and education are equally important issues. Thanks to Employment Service programs, civilians and their children can study free of charge in vocational, professional, and higher education institutions. We help with documents, internships, and cooperate with employers willing to hire those released from captivity.
I have instructed the development of a clear support model so that every person, immediately after release, receives the necessary assistance and care from the state.
Our main task is to bring people back to life after years of horror. The most valuable thing we have is our people. And we must protect each and every one of them,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
