In Druzhkivka, an artesian well has appeared thanks to the team of the Charitable Foundation "East SOS".

The reconstruction team of the charity fund "Sхід SOS" has drilled an artesian well in Druzhkivka, which provides local residents with drinking water.

To further purify and improve the quality of the water, a reverse osmosis and filtration system "Wise Water" has been installed. The well has been equipped in accordance with all hydrogeological standards. Laboratory analysis of the water confirmed that the main indicators meet sanitary and hygienic standards.

The source is located in a convenient place, within walking distance for the city's residents. The water distribution point operates daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

“In many frontline communities in Ukraine, centralized water supply is absent or unstable due to the destruction of infrastructure as a result of Russian shelling. The situation is particularly difficult in the northern cities of Donetsk region. We are making efforts to implement sustainable solutions as quickly as possible to restore people's access to drinking water,” said Alexander Shmanyov, infrastructure manager of the charity fund "Sхід SOS".

According to UNICEF in Ukraine, from February 2022 to 2024, about one-third of Ukraine's freshwater reserves have been destroyed. The enemy systematically attacks water supply networks, wells, and hydraulic structures — as a result, about 4 million people remain without access to clean drinking water.

Last year, the fund's team already equipped 3 water stations with purification complexes in the Dobropillia community, as well as drilled 3 wells in Kostiantynivka and 2 in Druzhkivka.

The well was drilled as part of the project "Comprehensive humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected Ukrainians and citizens of third countries in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Moldova" with the support of Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and funding from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
