As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” a special meeting took place between the Bakhmut and Hostomel communities, united by a shared experience of resilience and recovery.
Representatives from the cultural sector of the Bakhmut city community visited the Hero City of Hostomel in the Kyiv region. This visit was not merely a working trip, but a symbol of sincere support, unity, and mutual understanding.
The highlight of the event was the creation of the Bakhmut Easter Tree on the grounds of Gostomel Lyceum No. 1.
Here, the creativity of the lyceum students was combined with the craftsmanship of the Bakhmut artisans. This process became a true moment of unity between generations and communities.
During the visit, the delegation from Bakhmut toured the lyceum’s museum. The interactive memorial corner, dedicated to the events of the occupation of the Gostomel community in 2022, was particularly moving.
The participants also familiarized themselves with the work of the cultural and wellness complex—a modern space that combines culture, recovery, and support for community residents.
Cultural experts exchanged experiences of working in conditions of war, evacuation, and recovery.
Cooperation between Bakhmut and Hostomel continues. Together, side by side, we are rebuilding not only walls—we are restoring our country’s cultural space.
