From May 19 to 25, 2025, Ukraine is celebrating the National Barrier-Free Week, an initiative aimed at building an inclusive society where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.

Throughout the week, humanitarian hubs/centers established for residents of Donetsk Oblast in the safe regions of Ukraine are actively involved in the National Barrier-Free Week, supporting the principles of inclusiveness, equality and dignity. Creating a comfortable environment for everyone is not only about infrastructure, but also about respect, openness and willingness to change.

The humanitarian hub of the Marinka City Military Administration (Pavlohrad) hosted an educational event. Pavlohrad) held an educational event on psychological rehabilitation and mental health called "Barrier-free Hour", during which children performed psychological game and art therapy exercises, expanded their knowledge of barrier-free accessibility, improved communication skills, increased their emotional intelligence, learned to empathize and create a safe and comfortable environment around them, which will positively affect the mental health of their families.

The Alice in Wonderland educational hub (Irpin) hosted a resource meeting for teachers on the topic of barrier-free communication, which brought together educators from the Toretsk community to raise awareness and develop practical skills of inclusive interaction.

Barrier-free communication is the norm of the modern world, part of our European future and a real tool for the development of communities and the state. It is a space where everyone has the opportunity to live, study, work and self-realize.
