As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” an online meeting was held with residents of the Toretsk urban community who are temporarily residing in the Kaniv community.

The event took place at the T. G. Shevchenko Public Library in Kaniv and brought together representatives of both communities to provide up-to-date information for displaced persons.

Alina Fomkina, Deputy Head of the Toretsk City Military Administration, participated in the event and provided explanations regarding compensation for destroyed housing. In particular, they discussed the application process, the list of required documents, the specifics of application review, and state compensation mechanisms.

Representatives from the Social Protection Department of the Toretsk City Military Administration, specialists from the Toretsk City Center for Social Services, and representatives from the Kaniv City Center for Social Services also joined the meeting.

The meeting focused primarily on issues of social support for the most vulnerable groups of citizens, including families with children, people with disabilities, the elderly, and residents facing difficult life circumstances due to health issues.

The experts informed the participants about the eligibility criteria for financial assistance, the types of payments funded by the Toretsk community budget, the procedure for submitting the required documents, the processing times for applications, and the mechanisms for calculating the assistance.

The meeting took place in the format of an open dialogue and marked another step in strengthening cooperation between communities within the framework of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, which aims to support people during difficult times and facilitate their social adaptation.

Together, we are stronger. Side by side.
