The Kremenchuk City Art Gallery organized a workshop for residents of Bakhmut, led by artist Ksenia Osadcha. It was here that work began on the Bakhmut Easter Tree as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”

With great attention to detail and under Ms. Ksenia’s attentive guidance, participants immersed themselves in the art of pysanka painting: they explored the deeper meanings of symbols, mastered the delicate technique of working with wax, and infused their own meanings, faith, and hopes into their designs. It was a time of genuine emotion, shared experiences, and quiet joy—so necessary today.

Each pysanka created now adorns the Bakhmut Easter Tree in Kremenchuk’s Dnipro Park. The installation has become a symbol of the strong bond between the two cities and a testament to the indomitable Ukrainian spirit.

Anyone can add their pysanka to the Bakhmut tree as a sign of faith, as a personal story woven into the shared fabric of the community.

We sincerely thank the management of the Kremenchuk City Art Gallery and all the residents of Kremenchuk for their support and hospitality. We believe that a similar symbol of rebirth, memory, and resilience will surely appear under the peaceful skies of a free Ukrainian Bakhmut.
