The grand opening of the “Novogrodivka – Donetsk Region” Cultural and Youth Center took place in the city of Kremenchuk. This new multifunctional center has become a shining example of the implementation of Donetsk Oblast’s youth policy in the context of relocation, bringing together active young people and community members who, due to the war, have been forced to live in different parts of Ukraine.
The event was attended by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; heads of relevant departments within the Donetsk Regional State Administration; leadership of the Novohrodivka City Military Administration; representatives of the Donetsk Region Youth Congress, the Novohrodivka Youth Council, and young people from the region.
The main philosophy of the new space is “created by youth for youth.” The center’s creation was the result of active collaboration within the region’s youth movement. Representatives of the Youth Council under the Novogrodivka City Council and the Donetsk Region Youth Congress made significant contributions to the development of the space.
To ensure the center’s accessibility within the community, a Targeted Youth Support Program is in place. Since most of the children and youth of the Novohrodivka community are currently residing temporarily in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the program provides funding and organizes transportation for young people to the center in Kremenchuk.
In addition to youth initiatives, the space combines elements of national-patriotic education, cultural and educational programs, and humanitarian and social assistance. The real highlight of the space will be the “Drone School”—a unique training program on operating unmanned aerial vehicles for young people, which will begin very soon.
The opening of the space was made possible by the joint efforts of the Novogrodivka Municipal Council, the Youth Council, and the Youth Congress, with comprehensive support from the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The “Novogrodivka – Donetsk Region” cultural and youth space demonstrates that the youth movement in the Donetsk region remains a driving force for development, unity, and the preservation of cultural identity, even when far from home.
