Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, visited the “YaMariupol” support center for displaced persons in Kropyvnytskyi, as well as support centers for internally displaced persons in the Druzhkivka and Novodonetsk territorial communities.

Today, the city hosts centers established by the Mariupol, Pokrovsk, Druzhkivka, and Novodonetsk communities. They bring together and support over 6,500 displaced persons who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.

The centers provide a wide range of assistance, from humanitarian aid to consultations on social and legal issues. Specialists provide psychological support, assist with employment, document processing, and access to administrative services. At the same time, the teams organize educational, informational, and cultural events that help people adapt to their new circumstances.

During his visit, Oleksandr Shevchenko familiarized himself with the centers’ areas of work and spoke with IDPs, volunteers, and community activists who have united around a common goal—supporting their fellow citizens forcibly displaced from Donetsk Oblast. They also discussed key needs and prospects for the further development of these humanitarian spaces.

Such centers play an important role in the lives of displaced persons, as they help not only to resolve daily issues but also to restore a sense of stability, support, and solidarity.
