In early April, a mental health training session was held for residents of Donetsk, organized in collaboration with the Pokrovsk, Mariupol, and Staromlyniv communities and the Regional State Administration’s Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events for National-Patriotic Education.

The meeting took place at the “YaMariupol.Kryvyi Rih” Support Center for Displaced Persons. It was here, in a warm and cozy atmosphere reminiscent of home, that participants gathered to discuss how to maintain inner resilience during the difficult times of war.

Specialists from the Pokrovsk Community Resilience Center discussed the main signs of stress and emotional burnout, self-help methods, breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as when to seek professional psychological help.

Special attention was given to the topic of resilience and recovery after traumatic events. Participants actively engaged in practical exercises, worked in groups, shared experiences, and discussed how to maintain mental health in wartime.

At the end of the event, a mobile team providing social and psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence and/or gender-based violence, from the Pokrovsk City Center for Social Services held a session on combating gender-based violence and distributed “women’s dignity” backpacks to girls and women—special kits containing essential items for hygiene, reproductive health, and everyday comfort.
