As part of the nationwide mental health program “How are you?”, initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska, an Infobox has been created to support interaction with people released from captivity. It is a useful resource for relatives, friends, colleagues, professionals, media representatives, and community members—anyone who seeks to build sensitive and respectful communication.
The Infobox includes materials designed to help better understand the experience of life after captivity and provide appropriate support:
an educational series on the “Diia. Education” platform titled “Do No Harm: Supporting People After Release from Captivity” (10 episodes);
short video answers to difficult questions published on the social media pages of the “How are you?” program;
a guidebook “Life and Service After Captivity” with practical recommendations on recovery, adaptation, employment, and safety.
Using these materials helps foster a culture of sensitive interaction and supports people in returning to a full life and professional fulfillment.

The Infobox was developed within the framework of the nationwide mental health program “How are you?”—an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska—in cooperation with DIGNITY – the Danish Institute Against Torture, with funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Expert and analytical support was provided by the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Reintegration Measures Department of the Civil-Military Cooperation Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. Media partner: Starlight Media. Technical support: NGO “Barrier-Free”.
