This year, the meeting coincided with a Day of Mourning for those killed as a result of a Russian attack on the capital. For this reason, a prayer for those whose lives were taken by the war, for their families, and for a just peace for Ukraine became central to the event. The morning prayer took place at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery with the participation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius.
Donetsk Oblast was represented at the event by Olena Marchenko, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
A special goal of the prayer breakfast was a charitable fundraiser for the restoration of the Kherson Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and support for the "Healthy Mother — Healthy Child" project.
"I thank the organizers for this meeting, which united people around memory, mutual support, and assistance to those who especially need it today," emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
