Symbols of the indomitable region have been featured in the new postage stamp series “Code of Donetsk Region”

The Donetsk Regional State Administration, in collaboration with JSC “Ukrposhta,” presented a new philatelic project titled “Code of Donetsk Region,” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

The basis for the commemorative block is a series of works by Mariupol artist Oksana Hnatyshyn, who, through the language of painting and symbols, has recreated the multifaceted history of the east—the salt galleries of Soledar, ancient steppe burial mounds, industrial landscapes, the coast of the Sea of Azov, the holy sites of Svyatogorye, and the traditions of Bakhmut.

As part of the event, a ceremonial special cancellation of the postal block took place using a special postmark, attended by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, and Maksym Sutkovyi, director of the Donetsk Directorate of JSC “Ukrposhta.”

This issue has become not only a part of the history of Ukrainian philately but also a powerful testament to the resilience of the Donetsk region, its deep historical roots, and its unbreakable bond with Ukraine. A copy bearing the first impression of the postmark was donated to the collection of the Donetsk Regional Art Museum.
