During a working visit to Lviv, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, visited the support centre for residents of the Bakhmut urban territorial community, ‘With Bakhmut in Our Hearts. Lviv’.

The centre has been operating since March 2024. Currently, over 600 residents of the Bakhmut community who were forced to leave their homes due to the war are registered there.

Visitors can receive humanitarian, social, psychological and legal assistance, as well as take part in activities aimed at fostering social ties and community cohesion.

During the meeting, Oleksandr Shevchenko familiarised himself with the centre’s work and discussed with the team the current needs of residents of the Bakhmut community who are currently in Lviv, the quality of service provision and future areas of focus.

“Meeting the needs of internally displaced persons remains one of the priorities of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. We must continue to develop such centres so that people can receive the necessary assistance, socialise, support one another and maintain links with their native Donetsk region,” emphasised Oleksandr Shevchenko.

The Donetsk Regional State Administration will continue to support residents of the region who are currently in various parts of Ukraine. The work of such centres makes it possible to respond promptly to people’s needs and provide them with the necessary assistance and services.
