Accessibility means creating a society of equal opportunities, where spaces, services, and information are accessible to everyone without exception, including people with disabilities, older adults, and parents. It is a philosophy of respect, non-discrimination, and independence.
This was the focus of the training session “Accessibility: Opening an Accessible World for Everyone,” prepared by a practical psychologist from the Myrnohrad Center for Social Services for employees of the Myrnohrad City Military Administration.
During the event, participants discussed the barriers that exist in everyday life and why these are not limited to physical obstacles but can also be social, informational, and psychological. Through practical exercises, participants were able to better understand the experiences of others, develop empathy, and gain a new perspective on diversity in society. The main idea that united everyone: each of us is different, but we all have equal rights and dignity.
