On June 19, 2025, representatives of the Department of Veteran Policy of the Donetsk Regional State Administration participated in a meeting with war veterans and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of the Ocheretyn Territorial Community.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current issues related to the implementation of state veteran policy, mechanisms for ensuring social guarantees, and the introduction of local support programs for veterans.

The event was attended by: Deputy Head of the Pokrovsk District State Administration Oleksandr Fomenko, Head of the Ocheretyn Village Military Administration Mykola Kovalenko, Head of the Donetsk Regional Branch of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities Tetiana Malyavina, representatives of the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk region, Pokrovsk branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center, as well as structural subdivisions of the Ocheretyn Village Council.

Meeting participants focused on benefits and social assistance for veterans at the state and regional levels, local initiatives, as well as employment and vocational training opportunities. They also discussed the state program for free prosthetics and the provision of rehabilitation aids for veterans and persons with disabilities.

During the event, an electronic "Book of Memory" was presented — a project to honor the heroism of the Defenders of the Ocheretyn Territorial Community. The attendees were also introduced to the Memory Corner of the fallen Heroes, opened in the community's humanitarian hub in the city of Kamianske.

The meeting was an important step in strengthening the social protection of veterans and their families, contributing to the proper honoring of their contribution to the defense of Ukraine and improving the quality of service provision.
