Pavlohrad is the first point where evacuees find safety after leaving the frontline communities of Donetsk region. But for this safety to become not just a reality but a feeling, daily and coordinated work of the team is needed.
After a journey that is often exhausting, distressing, and long, specialists from the "East SOS" Charitable Foundation find a place for rest, organize a hot meal, suggest where to get water or feed an animal, provide legal and social consultations, and plan the next route – they do everything to help a person plan for the future. After all, the uncertainty ahead is no less exhausting than the path behind.
In these photos: the kitten Puhnastik has lunch before the journey to the village of Orly; lawyer Ilya consults evacuees on document restoration; cat Snihok from Pokrovsk with its owner sets off again after lunch; part of the foundation's team at the transit point supports the evacuees and each other.
In difficult circumstances, the care of others helps to hold on. The "East SOS" Charitable Foundation team is there every day so that people do not feel alone with their loss, the journey, and the unknown. Every evacuation is a path to a saved life that requires attention at every step.
