On the eve of International Museum Day, Vinnytsia hosted a cultural and artistic event titled “Memory Echoing Through the Ages,” organized by the State Historical and Architectural Reserve in Sviatohirsk.

The event took place in the crypt of the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Angels, a unique historical space that symbolically united the cultural heritage of various regions of Ukraine.

The event marked another important step in promoting the cultural heritage of the Donetsk region and presenting the Holy Mountains as one of Ukraine’s key spiritual and historical centers.

The highlight of the event was the opening of the exhibition “The Holy Mountains: 500 Years Since the First Written Mention.” The exhibition highlighted their history, the role of the Ukrainian Cossacks in the settlement of this territory, and the formation of an important sacred center. Visitors had the opportunity to view archival materials, historical photographs, and documents reflecting the centuries-old history of the Donetsk region.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, the museum community, and the general public. Welcoming remarks were delivered by: Andriy Kavunets, Deputy Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration; Viktoria Tochena, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; Olga Dernova, Head of the Department of Culture and Creative Industries of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration; Viktoria Nabokova, Head of the Kramatorsk District State Administration; and Volodymyr Rybalkin, Head of the Sviatohirsk City Military Administration.

The speakers emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory, supporting museum work, and promoting cultural heritage as an integral part of the national resilience and unity of Ukrainian society.

The cultural and artistic event “Memory That Resonates Through the Ages” demonstrated that even in times of war, Ukrainian culture continues to thrive, uniting people and strengthening ties between Ukraine’s regions. Preserving history and cultural heritage remains a vital part of the struggle for Ukrainian identity and the future of the state.
