On September 1, 2026, at the initiative of the Department of Education and Science of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the region-wide “First Lesson: The Language of Dignity—The Language of the Unconquered” was held in a hybrid format for students in the region.

Students from Lyceum No. 3 of the Pokrovsk City Council in the Donetsk region (Dnipro) and the First Kramatorsk Lyceum of the Kramatorsk City Council (Perechyn) joined the live in-person broadcast of the lesson.

Ihor Haievyi, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, congratulated the educational and student communities of the Donetsk region on the start of the new school year.

Through interactive exercises, students of all ages gained a fresh perspective on ordinary yet vital concepts: gratitude, love, support, and respect. Together with their teachers, they explored the values that form the foundation of Ukrainian civic identity: from history and nationhood to freedom and traditions.

Special attention was paid to Ukraine’s current defenders. Students learned how to properly and respectfully express gratitude to veterans using the language of dignity, while avoiding violations of personal boundaries.

The first lesson served as a powerful reminder that dignity is an  inherent quality manifested in the daily decisions of every Ukrainian man and woman.
