The Ukrainian Veterans Fund has launched an online platform for the employment of veterans.

Published 29 May 2025 year, 12:33

The platform “Veteran Career”, developed by the Ukrainian Veteran Fund of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, is a modern online resource designed to help Ukrainian defenders successfully adapt to civilian life after completing their service, particularly in finding jobs that match their experience, values, and new life goals.

For many veterans, the platform will serve as a bridge between military and civilian life and will facilitate not only job searching but also a deeper transformation—both professional and personal.

What does the platform offer?

“Veteran Career” is more than just a job vacancy site. It is a comprehensive support system that covers all key stages of returning to civilian work:

  • assistance in creating resumes;
  • help with translating military experience into civilian job language;
  • access to online training for acquiring new skills and professional knowledge;
  • information about opportunities for education, retraining, and employment;
  • for veterans—a current database of job vacancies that consider the needs and skills of veterans;
  • for employers—a current database of resumes of veterans who have the necessary experience and skills;
  • facilitation of communication between veterans and employers.

What challenges does this tool help to overcome?

As shown by the study on the employment issues of veterans, returning to work after the front is a challenging path where defenders face:

  • the need for psychological adaptation to the civilian environment;
  • fears or stereotypes from employers and colleagues;
  • misunderstanding among HR professionals on how to ethically interact with veterans;
  • lack of knowledge about the legal aspects of employment for combatants;
  • lack of information about state support programs;
  • limited choice of professions that consider health conditions, and other difficulties.

The “Veteran Career” platform aims to be a support on the path to job searching—from the first steps to a full-fledged career.
