Artem Chagan, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development and Land Relations of the Regional State Administration, took part in a coordination meeting chaired by Vitaliy Golovni, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

During the meeting, participants discussed amendments to the Procedure for the Use of Funds to Compensate for Losses from Damage to Agricultural Crops Caused by Emergencies, approved by Resolution No. 885 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 11, 2021.

The draft amendments to the Procedure provide for:

- providing support to agricultural producers—legal entities and individual entrepreneurs—whose crops were burned and/or left unharvested in the previous year as a result of hostilities;

- approval by the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies of a list of agricultural land plots where crops were burned and/or left unharvested in areas of hostilities, as well as in areas contaminated or suspected of being contaminated with explosive objects;

- provision of support in the amount of:

  • up to 4,700 hryvnias per hectare of damage to agricultural crops from the previous year’s harvest (for each instance of a natural disaster);
  • up to 10,460 hryvnias per hectare of damage to agricultural crops from the previous year’s harvest (for burned or unharvested crops);

- Support payments shall be made once a year by May 1 for an area of damaged crops not exceeding 2,000 hectares per recipient.

The Donetsk Regional State Administration is grateful to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy for its work on new initiatives to support farmers in frontline territories.
