On the initiative of the Department of Education and Science of the Regional State Administration, a unique educational project was implemented in the Donetsk region throughout the 2025/2026 school year—weekly region-wide “Lessons in Resilience,” which became an effective tool for fostering patriotism among the region’s children and youth.
The project encompassed all levels of education in the region: general secondary, extracurricular, and vocational education institutions. Representatives of teaching staff served as co-authors and moderators of the events, creatively combining their experience in fostering Ukrainian national and civic identity among children and youth.
Weekly online meetings, coordinated by the Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, brought together thousands of students around the values of statehood, democracy, the pursuit of freedom, and European development.
A key feature of the “Lessons in Resilience” was the shift away from lecture-based methods toward interactive formats: project-based activities, inquiry-based lessons, intellectual competitions, and virtual discussions.
