Legislative decisions to support communities, especially those near the front line, are not a matter of politics — they are a matter of survival.
Together with heads of communities from Donetsk region, Vadym Filashkin took part in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine and joined the panel discussion “Dialogue Between Communities and Parliament.” This is a highly important and effective platform where communities can directly voice their needs and receive responses at the national level.
“We discussed key issues: protection of frontline territories, prospects for introducing local taxes and fees, education reform, civil protection, and international cooperation.
For Donetsk region, these are not abstract topics — they are a daily reality that determines the stability of communities and the safety of people.
We need clear, fast, and effective legislative decisions that take into account the specifics of regions living under constant threat.
I am grateful to the Volodymyr Zelenskyy for creating such a dialogue format, and to the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Members of Parliament for their willingness to listen to communities and work on necessary changes,” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
