On the eve of Healthcare Worker's Day, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin congratulated healthcare professionals from the Donetsk region and presented them with Certificates of Honor and Letters of Appreciation from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Badge of Honor of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Certificates of Honor and Letters of Appreciation from the Donetsk Regional State Administration, as well as Certificates of Honor from the Healthcare Department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The meeting brought together medical professionals who continue to save lives in the Donetsk region under daily shelling, those working in relocated hospitals, and military medics. For each of them, the concept of a "work schedule" goes far beyond the limits of professional duty.
"We have become accustomed to the fact that healthcare workers are always there when we need them. But we often forget what lies behind that presence—especially in these difficult times.
It means working to sounds that should never become routine. It means making life-or-death decisions in a matter of seconds. It means having the courage to stay when most people seek safety. Today is their day. It is not just another date on the calendar—it is our way of saying, 'Thank you.' Thank you for every life saved, every shift worked, and every moment when they refused to give up.
Sadly, during the war we have lost many talented, dedicated, and highly skilled healthcare professionals. Today we honored the memory of the fallen medics of the Donetsk region. We remember every one of them. Honor and eternal glory to each of them.
I sincerely thank everyone who continues to work in the Donetsk region, those who have chosen to save lives in the Armed Forces, and those caring for our people and defenders in relocated hospitals in safer areas.
Every one of you knows what it means to hold the frontline of life—whether in a white coat or body armor, in an ambulance or evacuation vehicle, at a stabilization point or in an operating room.
