The Head of Donetsk Regional State Administration chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Regional Commission on Technological and Environmental Safety and Emergency Response.
The participants reviewed the current water supply situation in the government-controlled areas of Donetsk Region. Due to ongoing Russian shelling, damage to water supply and sewerage infrastructure, hydraulic structures, and energy facilities, the situation has become significantly more complicated.
"Water is one of the fundamental necessities of life. That is why we must act quickly, in a coordinated manner, and proactively.
Following the meeting, we identified the immediate priorities: local communities must intensify efforts to identify alternative water supply sources, ensure backup power supply systems, prepare additional water intake points, reserve water storage facilities, and establish the capacity to deliver water to residents when necessary.
Another key task is carrying out emergency repair and restoration work at the facilities that provide water supply across the region.
