A family of three, who lived in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods, managed to leave on their third attempt—only with the help of the police. Another evacuee was a single woman whose home had been bombed by Russia.

From the Hirnyk neighborhood, where there is a large concentration of enemy drones and loitering munitions, the “White Angel” crew evacuated an elderly couple and their 53-year-old son, who has a Group 2 disability.  He has suffered a stroke and undergone heart surgery and requires medical care.

All three are practically unable to walk, but they take care of their beloved Chihuahua. “She’s a member of our family; I can’t go anywhere without her,” says the man. He has lived his entire life in Druzhkivka with his parents and hoped until the very end that he wouldn’t have to leave his home. However, the enemy, by destroying the city, left the people with no choice.

Police officers handed the family over to volunteers, who transported them by medical evacuation to the Cherkasy region.

On their second flight, the “White Angels” rescued 88-year-old Nina. When Russian troops destroyed her home in the city center, she moved in with a friend in a private residential area. She survived without electricity, gas, or running water—her only source of water was a well. But her friend and her family left, and the woman was left without any support amid the shelling.

The third flight proved unsuccessful—the person who had applied for evacuation refused to leave.

The evacuation from Druzhkivka is ongoing. Even if there is the slightest chance of saving a life, the police are on their way to the rescue.
