Vadym Filashkin held discussions with the NGO Help To Ukraine and HIDRITEC WATER SYSTEMS of the Kingdom of Spain regarding the possibility of implementing a project to provide communities in Donetsk region with water treatment equipment.
Water supply remains one of the most serious challenges facing the region. Russia has been targeting Donetsk region’s critical infrastructure since 2014, and following the start of the full-scale invasion, the scale of destruction has increased significantly.
“Our task is to explore every possible solution: constructing new water intake facilities, creating alternative water supply sources, and attracting international support.
Representatives of local communities, relevant departments of the Regional State Administration, and the municipal enterprise Company ‘Water of Donbas’ also joined the discussion.
Our Spanish partners are ready to provide communities with equipment for water extraction and filtration.
Water is a basic human necessity. We must do everything possible to ensure that the residents of Donetsk region have access to it even in wartime conditions,” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
