Together with his Zakarpattia counterpart, Myroslav Biletskyi, Vadym Filashkin met with participants of the second “Carpathian Shift” session — 100 children from 27 communities of Donetsk Oblast. In Mukachevo, they took part in football darts, a track-and-field race, and a friendly football match.
During the match, the leaders of Donetsk and Zakarpattia regions also joined the children on the field. There was plenty of excitement, smiles, encouragement from the stands, and true team spirit. The game ended in a friendly 2–2 draw, but the greatest victory was the joy on the children’s faces.
“It is wonderful to see the children of Donetsk Oblast laughing, playing, competing, and simply enjoying their childhood — free from air raid alerts, shelling, and fear.
I also had the opportunity to present all the children with small gifts featuring the symbols of Donetsk Oblast.
Moments like these are truly valuable. The children of Donetsk Oblast deserve the opportunity to rest, make friends, discover new places, and feel that people care about them.
I would like to thank the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Myroslav Biletskyi, and everyone involved in bringing the ‘Carpathian Shift’ project to life.
We are working to create even more opportunities like this!” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
