Since February 24, 2022, the life of our region has been divided into "before" and "after". Almost 1 million 300 thousand Donetsk residents were forced to evacuate. Among them are 197 thousand children and 47 thousand people with disabilities.
Hundreds of volunteers, coordinators, drivers, psychologists and doctors are involved in this large-scale work alongside the authorities. They help at every stage: when leaving dangerous areas, in transit centers, and during the accommodation of IDPs.
During the mandatory evacuation alone, charitable organizations helped to move more than 60,000 people out of the region, including almost 10,000 children and 7,000 people with limited mobility.
Today, in the transit centers of Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovs'k regions, the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadim Filashkin met with volunteers who have been helping our people on their way to safety since the first days of the full-scale war.
The head of the region presented them with awards from the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Donetsk Regional Defense Council as a symbol of sincere gratitude from the entire Donetsk region.
