Sergeant Serhii Troyan, callsign “Troyan,” was killed on November 3, 2023, during a combat mission near the village of Krynky in Kherson region. He was 44.
He was born in Mariupol. At PSTU he earned two higher degrees with honors: “Welding Engineer” and “Economist.” He worked at the Illich Steel and Iron Works. Since 2014, he lived in Brovary, managed a chain of furniture stores, registered the trademark “Super Shafa,” and manufactured and sold furniture. Together with his wife, he raised two sons.
From the first days of the invasion, he was in the army. He served in the 38th Separate Marine Brigade as a vehicle commander in the airborne assault platoon. Posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class. As of September 2024, his body has not been returned.
“Brave, principled, loving; he saved his men at the cost of his life,” said his wife Tetiana. “An excellent student, hardworking, fair,” said his mother Alla. His middle brother, Dmytro Lisen, was also killed (April 15, 2022, Mariupol).
