During the forum, participants discussed the outcomes of the project, its impact on children, and the further development of similar programs. The event was attended by Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine; Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine; and Olena Balbek, Director for Strategic Development and Sustainability of the Ukrainian Association of Football.
A total of 200 children from the Donetsk region took part in the two sessions of the “Carpathian Change” program. These are children who, because of the war, need special attention, support, recovery, and a safe environment where they can simply be children.
The program combined recreation, sports, communication, patriotic education, creativity, and new experiences. The children trained, played football, participated in quests, excursions, and workshops, and met with Ukrainian defenders and well-known Ukrainian football players.
“I thank the President of Ukraine for this initiative, as well as the Office of the President, the Ukrainian Association of Football, our partners, and all the organizers.
Special thanks to Zakarpattia and to the Head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletskyi, for supporting the children of the Donetsk region and helping make this project possible.
We will continue working to create even more opportunities like this,” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
