This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Regional Military Administration.
On the eve of Ukraine’s Coach Day, the head of Donetsk region met with local coaches and athletes.
“I thanked them for their dedication and presented certificates of honor and letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Donetsk Regional State Administration, as well as awards for the best athletes and coaches of the month.
For achievements in the 2024–2025 ‘Side by Side: All-Ukrainian School Leagues’ competitions, I presented two certificates for cash prizes and four certificates for the purchase of sports uniforms.
There are over 400 coaches and trainers currently working in Donetsk region. Despite the war, most continue to train children — both in-person and remotely. This is daily work that deserves our deepest respect.
The results of our teams in the ‘Side by Side’ competitions speak for themselves: silver for the girls’ futsal team from Dobropillia, fourth place in futsal and rugby-5 for boys from Pokrovsk, and finals in cheerleading, athletics, volleyball, and basketball.
Coaches in Donetsk region are a beacon of hope for children. You uphold the sporting spirit of our region. We stand with you and support you,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
