The Verkhovna Rada renamed 13 settlements in the Donetsk region.

On June 18, 2025, the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated June 5, 2025, No. 4483-IX "On the renaming of certain settlements whose names contain the symbolism of Russian imperial policy or do not meet the standards of the state language" came into effect.

By the relevant Resolution, settlements in Ukraine were renamed, in particular in the Donetsk region:

  • the village of Yuriyivka of the Toretsk city territorial community of Bakhmut district - to the village of Yuriyivka;
  • the village of Tolstoy of the Komar rural territorial community of Volnovakha district - to the village of Tovste;
  • the village of Huselykove of the Novoazovsk city territorial community of Kalmius district - to the village of Huselynkove;
  • the village of Tavrycheske of the Boikyiv settlement territorial community of Kalmius district - to the village of Tavriyske;
  • the village of Prelesne of the Cherkasy settlement territorial community of Kramatorsk district - to the village of Prilysne;
  • the village of Boyove of the Nikolske settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Svyato-Pokrovsk;
  • the village of Novokrasnivka of the Nikolske settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Yamburg;
  • the village of Peremoga of the Nikolske settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Stepove;
  • the village of Pyshchevyk of the Sartana settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Kalmiuske;
  • the village of Respublika of the Nikolske settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Bergtal;
  • the village of Yuriyivka of the Mangush settlement territorial community of Mariupol district - to the village of Yuriyivka;
  • the village of Pobeda of the Maryinka city territorial community of Pokrovsk district - to the village of Peremoga;
  • the village of Yuriyivka of the Kryvorizka rural territorial community of Pokrovsk district - to the village of Yuriyivske.
