During the event, the Donetsk region’s experience in shaping modern veteran policy was presented, as well as the collaboration between government agencies, the civil society sector, and the business community in creating a comprehensive support system for war veterans and their families.
Artur Nasibyan, Head of the Department of Veterans’ Policy at the Donetsk Regional State Administration, participated in the EBC Day 2026 panel discussion dedicated to the reintegration of veterans and their return to civilian life through employment.
“The reintegration of veterans is not just about social support. It’s about creating opportunities where veterans can realize their potential, become sought-after professionals, and remain active participants in the country’s economic development. That is why veteran policy must become an integral part of human resources strategy,” noted Artur Nasibyan.
Participants in the panel discussion, including representatives of the “Nazustrich” veterans’ project, the Work.ua platform, and DTEK, discussed current challenges in veteran employment, the role of employers in creating a barrier-free and inclusive work environment, and practical mechanisms for helping veterans return to professional life.
Participation in such professional forums helps spread best practices, strengthen partnerships between the government and the business community, and foster a new culture of veteran employment—one in which working with veterans is not merely a social initiative but an integral part of companies’ long-term development strategies.
